The main Protein Ontology Framework (Concepts and Relationships) represented in Web Ontology Language (OWL) is: PO OWL Schema (from NCBO repository)Alternatively you can download PO OWL Schema here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/po-project/ If you would like to know more the Protein Documentation is here: PO DocumentationWe are current in the process of representing all the proteins available for various Protein Families in Protein Ontology. You can download these from Protein Ontology Instance Store here: PO Instance StoreInstances for various proteins discovered till date will be made available in Protein Ontology. Here is the steps that you can follow to download these PO Instances and view them. Step 1: Go to PO Instance Store Step 2: Download the PO instance files in Web Ontology Format (OWL) and store them in a local folder to create your local repository. PO Instances files are also available in zipped format, in that case you have to unzip them first. Step 3: Download and Install an OWL editor to visualize and edit the protein ontology instances you download. We recommend you Download install popular Protégé Ontology Editor for OWL. Make sure do complete installation and for all all OWL based capabilities of Protégé to function. You can follow instructions on Getting Started Page (http://protege.stanford.edu/doc/owl/getting-started.html) if you are new to Protégé.
